Haley Joel Osment, known for his role in The Sixth Sense, has publicly apologized after being arrested on April 8 in Mammoth Lakes, California, for alleged public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.
During the arrest, bodycam footage captured Osment using an antisemitic slur directed at the arresting officer. He expressed deep remorse, stating he was “absolutely horrified” by his behavior and attributing it to emotional distress from recent personal hardships, including the loss of his home in the Eaton Fire earlier this year.
Osment emphasized that there is no excuse for his language and committed to atoning for his actions.
The Mono County District Attorney’s office has charged Osment with possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct. His arraignment is scheduled for June 7.
This incident adds to Osment’s prior legal issues, including a 2006 DUI charge and a 2018 airport altercation.
