Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Mordecai’ Premiere Look

Paltrow wore a Alber Elbaz number that featured a pair of thigh-high slits and a crisscross design in the back. She accessorized the dress with a thick navy leather belt and black and green earrings. The actress’ hair was styled with a middle part and slicked back behind her ears.

In Mordecai, Paltrow plays Johanna, the wife of Johnny Depp’s titular, art-dealing character.

“Johanna just kind of jumped off the page when I read it,” Paltrow told Us Weekly on the Mordecai premiere red carpet. “She’s a very specific aristocratic English woman, very quick and bright and funny. So I was excited to play her.”

Mordecai, which also stars Ewan McGregor and Paul Bettany, hits theater Friday, Jan. 23.
