Gwyneth Paltrow is set to take her next step on the path to becoming a country star next month, singing live at the Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.

The actress, who plays an alcoholic country singer in the upcoming Country Strong, showed off her vocal range in Duets and is currently filming her guest appearance on the musical show Glee, but the CMAs will have her belting it out in real time. Paltrow, 38, will sing the title song from her movie "Country Strong," alongside country legend Vince Gill.

The song has already been released as a single, an event that surprised the Oscar winner. “I was just singing songs for the movie. I think the original plan was they wanted the bona fide crew to re-sing our songs," she said in Entertainment Weekly. "Then when [Sony Music Nashville chair] Joe Galante heard it, he was like, ‘No, I want to release this as the single.’ I was like, ‘Excuse me please? What? What is going on?’”

The movie also stars singer TIm McGraw as well as Gossip Girl starlet Leighton Meester. The Country Music Awards will take place on November 10. –AMY LEE
