Gwyneth Paltrow To President Obama: 'You're So Handsome That I Can't Properly Speak'

Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a Democratic fundraiser in her home to 200 people on Thursday evening, and one of the guests was the president of the United States himself Barack Obama.

“I am one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest,” Paltrow said. She praised much of Obama’s work on social causes, including equal pay which Paltrow said was “very important to me as a working mother.” Access to this fundraiser cost up to $32,000 a plate; Paltrow’s net worth is estimated somewhere around $140 million. Paltrow continued to gush over President Obama before giggling and getting tongue-tied. “You’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly,” she said.

The President took this in stride and was much more composed than the recently separated starlet. He spoke in front of the 200 in attendance about the Ebola outbreak and the economy him and was unfazed by Paltrow’s uncomfortable gushing.

Republicans and FOX News were miffed by Paltrow, but not for her child-like appreciation of the president, but of her “working mothers” comment, considering her sizable bank account. However, while criticizing Paltrow is a favorite pastime among many, it might be her neighbors that were more upset.

Since the president's security disrupted the lives of Paltrow’s neighbors, many residents were trapped, either unable to home or unable to leave their homes to pick up their children or run errands. One resident yelled at Secret Service and attendees that she had a crying child on a soccer field because she was not allowed to leave the area and pick her kid up.

The community’s social media website (Nextdoor Mandeville Canyon) was filled with complaints since the fundraiser. Bret Lewis, one of Paltrow’s neighbors, wanted her thrown out saying the neighborhood didn’t need people who “pay no heed to the concerns of their neighbors” and that Paltrow “belongs in movie theaters and President Obama can entertain in the Staples Center.”

Lewis said the issue is one of poor planning and general disregard for other people. “My 13-year-old daughter broke into tears, was unable to do her homework. We finally got home at 9:00 and my daughter was up late studying, ultimately ill-prepared for her exams…It was more than poor planning, it’s an abuse of power and, most importantly, unneighborly.”
