On Friday, Gwyneth Paltrow, 50, testified that Terry Sanderson, 76, collided with her back on the ski slope at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah seven years ago.
Sanderson, a retired optometrist, sued the actress for $3 million in damages but later lowered it to $300,000 while Paltrow countersued for $1 plus attorney fees.

Sanderson took the stand on Monday, recalling that he heard a scream and then was hit in his back so hard that he went “flying.” He continued, saying that he couldn’t ski anymore due to his injuries, which included a concussion and four broken ribs.
Sanderson also claimed that Paltrow was skiing with an instructor and group that included her two children, her husband Brad Falchuk and his two children. He also stated that afterward, Paltrow and her instructor skied away without helping him.
Craig Ramone provided witness testimony that largely supported Sanderson’s version of events. However, Paltrow said she didn’t believe Ramone, who was “40 feet away and color blind,” could give an accurate account of what happened.
The Utah jury is attempting to determine whether Paltrow or Sanderson was uphill when the crash occurred. Both parties believe they had the right of way on the ski slope.
Sanderson, Paltrow’s children Moses and Apple, Falchuk and skiing experts will all be called to the stand this week.
