Gwen Stefani Slammed By Fans On Social Media For Appearing To Support Tucker Carlson

Gwen Stefani received an avalanche of backlash following misinterpreted praise for former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

On March 5, actor Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus Christ in the newly viral Chosen series, sat down for an interview with Carlson in which they discussed Roumie’s experience of playing the titular role in the series.

Stefani responded to the interview posting to X, “U r a powerful inspirational human. What an enlightening intelligent beautiful interview thank you for being u,” she continued.

Stefanis’ comments were intended for Roumie, with whom she has a personal connection – Roumie narrates the Catholic prayer mobile app Hallow, which Stefani previously promoted during the 2024 holiday season. However, many viewers interpreted her praise as being directed at the controversial Carlson, a staunch Donald Trump supporter at one point rumored to be Trump’s running mate.

Stefani’s politics have had fans speculating for a long time. She hails from Orange County, California, which is a conservative area.

Stefani married Blake Shelton, a country singer who has supported Republican. In an interview with Paper magazine in 2021, Stefani said, regarding her politics, “I can see how people would be curious, but I think it’s pretty obvious who I am.”

She continued, “I’ve been around forever. I started my band because we were really influenced by ska, which was a movement that happened in the late ’70s, and it was really all about people coming together.”

She added, “The first song I ever wrote was a song called ‘Different People,’ which was on [Barack Obama’s] playlist, you know, a song about everyone being different and being the same and loving each other. The very first song I wrote.”
