Elon Musk’s former partner, singer Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, has called out the Tesla founder for disregarding her pleas to keep their children off the internet.
Grimes has been increasingly outspoken about Musk’s inappropriate parenting habits, last month condemning his decision to bring their son to the White House for a press conference. She told Time magazine following the event, “I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere. I think fame is something you should consent to. Obviously, things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that.”
In a post to X last Thursday, Boucher revealed that she has sought “legal recourse” to force Musk to stop taking their children to televised events and posting them on social media.
She acknowledged that she was not able to match Musk’s power, explaining that she tried to prevent him from parading their son X Æ A-XII, (or, Little X) around online. Grimes and Musk share three children: Little X, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 1.

She wrote, “I unfortunately do not control the internet and cannot wipe this from the internet. I have tried begging the public and my kids’ dad to keep them offline, and I’ve tried legal recourse.”
“I follow you here. I’ve seen young ppl destroyed by the internet, too. The state of my children’s lives being public is of grave concern to me and I have about how to solve this every day,” Grimes continued. “It’s insane to me that there’s no way to deal with this. I would hope there was some law that would allow a parent to veto small children from living public lives, but I don’t even trust the law to help me now if I tried to invoke it…”

The singer concluded the post, “We are in the Wild West of information content and dismantling of privacy and it’s very concerning.”
Upon Little X’s appearance on TV last month, many internet users commented on the child’s polite manners and supposedly cute interactions with the president. However, Boucher did not take compliments about her son in stride, responding to comments online, “He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank [you] for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
