Grey's Anatomy will return next week in the midst of drama yet again, as Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) lands a spot on the board after his mother bought the hospital.

After weeks of plot that was centered on the hospital desperately needing to get purchased, it finally found a buyer. It wasn’t Pegasus, the company that wanted to turn Seattle Grace into a well-oiled assembly line. And Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Callie (Sara Ramirez), Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), and Christina (Sandra Oh) were unable to get the big-time corporate investor on board. However, Avery’s mother/Richard’s mistress/head of the Harper Avery foundation was willing to help them out. Why? She could put her son on the board.

Now that Jackson is in this position of power over his peers, who are both more experienced and more connected to Seattle Grace, Grey’s Anatomy has a new strand of drama. The show is not wasting any time in bringing it to the forefront either. When Grey’s returns next Thursday, Mar. 14, the new hierarchy compels one of the Seattle Grace doctors to quit his job.

So, the quitter is…. Owen! All things considered, it’s not all that surprising. Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) been put through the ringer between last season and this season. Last season ended with Christina moving out. When she tried to patch things up between them, he found out he had a lawsuit on his hands and that it would be better for the victims of the plane crash if they got divorced. Then he, representing the hospital, received full blame for the crash. In order for the hospital to survive, he had to find a buyer. All his friends went behind his back (albeit with good intentions) to foil his plans and buy the hospital themselves.

The next episode of Grey's Anatomy will be on Thursday, Mar. 14 on ABC at 9 p.m. EST.
