Green Day is once again using their platform to air their political stances.
During their New Year’s Eve performance on ABC, the band’s frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, changed a verse to their song “American Idiot” to take a jab at former President Donald Trump.
The original lyrics go, “Well, maybe I’m the f—-, America / I’m not a part of a redneck agenda/Now everybody, do the propaganda / And sing along to the age of paranoia.”
During the New Year’s Eve show, Armstrong changed the lyrics to, “Well, maybe I’m the f—-, America/ I’m not a part of a MAGA agenda/ Now everybody, do the propaganda/ And sing along to the age of paranoia.”
The last time they expressed their dislike of Trump was last year in September when they released “ultimate Nimrod” shirts featuring Trump’s mugshot.
Green Day’s upcoming album, Savior’s, is set to release on January 19.
