Green Day Hits Broadway

The Broadway production of Green Day’s musical American Idiot is set to open on April 20. The musical follows the adventures of Jesus of Suburbia, an anti-hero who represents the band’s signature youthful angst. The show opens at the St. James Theatre and will run for an indeterminate amount of time. American Idiot earned its Broadway credentials with a phenomenally successful run at Berkeley Repertory Theater in Berkeley, California. Popular San Francisco news website SFGate.com reported that the production “packs plenty of excitement and entertainment into a remarkably theatrical rock concert.” –JAKE GABLE
