The remaining members of The Eagles and Jackson Browne paid tribute to the late frontman, Glenn Frey, by singing their classic, “Take It Easy” on the Grammys Monday night.
Fry died last month from complications due to heumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.
Browne was joined by Eagles co-founder Don Henley, along with the surviving band members including Bernie Leadon, Timothy B. Schmit and Joe Walsh. Browne took the lead vocals, while Leadon did the guitar solo.
“Even in our desire to honor the legacy of this band, Glenn’s passing — coming so close to the night of the show — presented certain challenges,” Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich said, in a pre-show discussion. “What is really gratifying is what the surviving members of the Eagles felt about the importance of honoring Glenn’s legacy by coming and appearing on the show.”
