Nominations for the 61st Grammy Awards were announced today and one of the nominees were even brought to tears on live television.

This morning on CBS, singer Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes, announced some of the nominees of the 2019 Grammy Awards. And when Monáe’s “Dirty Computer” was announced for Album of the Year, she got very emotional.

“I hope they feel seen,” Monáe said about the LGBT community. “I hope they feel loved and I hope they feel celebrated.”

Out of the nomination list, Rap artist Kendrick Lamar and Drake received the most nominations with eight and seven, while xinger/songwriter Brandi Carlile received six nominations.

50 CELEBRITIES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

Singer and musician, H.E.R. also snagged multiple nominations, including Best R&B Album, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Female artists have dominated top categories this year, and The Grammys have even expanded its major categories of Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist, from five nominees to eight, in an effort to address the lack of diversity that they have been called out on the past.

The 2019 Grammy Awards will take place on February 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and it will air live on CBS.

At last year’s Grammy’s, Bruno Mars took home Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of Year, beating out Lamar, Lorde, Childish Gambino and many more. And Jay-Z, who had the most nominations of the night, left empty-handed.

Here is the full list of the 2019 Grammy nominations,
