Grammy Awards Postponed For Second Year In A Row

In response to the latest Covid-19 surge, the 64th annual Grammy Awards have been postponed again. Last year’s show was also delayed from January to March and eventually took place outdoors with a reduced audience.

Daily Show host Trevor Noah was set to host the show for the second time on January 31, 2022, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

In a joint statement, CBS and the Recording Academy said “The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our shows remains our top priority.”

They added that “Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks.”

Plans for an updated ceremony or new time frame have not yet been made public, but the companies wrapped up their statement saying that the postponed show’s return date will be “announced soon.”
