Governor’s Ball, one of the premier summer music festivals in New York City, will be kicking off soon with its first day happening on Friday, June 10. It will be the festival’s second time at Citi Field, and the first in its usual time window after the 2020 Governor’s Ball was canceled, with the festival also getting delayed into September back in 2021.

It began as an electronic-focused single-day festival that boasted headliners like Pretty Lights and Empire of the Sun back in 2011. This was one of the first ventures for the new production company Founders Entertainment, created by Jordan Wolowitz, Tony Russell, and Yoni Reisman.
The festival is now stretching across three days from next Friday to Sunday, and here are some of the incredible artists they have booked to perform. Kid Cudi is headlining the Friday show, and fans of rap music should certainly consider attending on Friday with other excellent rap acts like JPEGMAFIA, Migos, Skepta and Jack Harlow. You will also get the chance to spot Aly & AJ, Black Pumas and Samia if you don’t prefer hip-hop.
Saturday, June 11 is also looking like a fantastic day for the festival. Halsey will be headlining, and there will be an eclectic lineup leading up to her concert which includes everyone from Flume, to Ashnikko, to Joji, to Shaquille O’Neal as his rapper alter-ego Diesel. Other artists you shouldn’t miss on Saturday are the excellent rapper Denzel Curry, Swedish singer Tove Lo, and the quirky singer Gus Dapperton.
Sunday’s shows are also shaping up to be excellent with a headlining performance from J. Cole. Other rappers playing on Sunday are Playboi Carti, Duckwrth, and JID, who happens to be signed to J. Cole’sDreamville. You’ll also be able to check out sets by Jazmine Sullivan, Japanese Breakfast, 100 Gecs, and Kaytranada. All of these days look absolutely incredible to attend, but if you only had the money for one ticket, Sunday has a huge variety of great artists set to play.
