GOP Sen. Katie Britt Slammed For ‘Creepy’ Response To Biden’s State Of The Union Address From Her Kitchen Table

Sen. Katie Britt (R-Alabama) delivered a “strange” rebuttal to President Joe Biden‘s State of the Union in a nationally televised address where she labeled him a “dithering and diminished leader.”

Britt, the youngest Republican woman serving in the U.S. Senate at the age of 42, chose her kitchen table as the backdrop to criticize Biden on various issues, such as the Middle East conflicts, the economy and the perceived transformation of the American dream into a “nightmare.” Her primary focus, like many Republicans, centered around the US-Mexico border.

Britt’s impassioned speech was met with online mockery, with critics calling it “dramatic,” “creepy” and “insincere.” Her odd tone ranged from “shouty” to seemingly near tears during the address.

CNN analyst and former Trump White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin wrote on X, “Senator Katie Britt is a very impressive person. She ran a hell of race in AL. I do not understand the decision to put her in a *KITCHEN* for one of the most important speeches she’s ever given.”

In her rebuttal, Britt argued that Biden inherited the most secure border in history but swiftly suspended deportations, halted border wall construction and proposed amnesty for millions of undocumented immigrants upon taking office. She accused Biden of inviting the border crisis with a series of executive actions in his first 100 days and emphasized that the situation was preventable and a disgrace.

Britt also highlighted specific cases affected by what she deemed as Biden’s “senseless border policies,” such as the murder of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, allegedly committed by an undocumented immigrant. She expressed her personal empathy as a mother and criticized Biden for failing to take responsibility for his actions.

Toward the end of her speech, Britt adopted a more optimistic tone and invoked the spirit of American greatness, the resilience of patriots who fought for independence and the legacy of pioneers who tamed the wild. She emphasized the importance of secure borders, stable prices, safe streets and a robust defense in building a great nation.

Britt’s political journey began in 2021 when she announced her candidacy for the 2022 Senate election in Alabama, despite never previously holding public office. Aligned with Donald Trump, she secured his endorsement and won the general election, becoming the state’s first elected female U.S. senator.

In her critique of Biden, Britt expressed her belief that he was not effectively leading the country, asserting that the free world and America deserve better. She emphasized the importance of secure borders, stable prices, safe streets and a strong defense as the pillars of a great nation.

By contrast, Biden’s fiery speech got positive reviews with over 60% of viewers saying his policies would “move the country in the right direction.”
