GOP Nominee For North Carolina Public Schools Chief, Michele Morrow, Called For Televised Executions Of Obama, Biden & Clinton

Michele Morrow, the Republican nominee for superintendent overseeing North Carolina’s public schools and its $11 billion budget, currently faces scrutiny due to her long history of preaching baseless conspiracy theories and frequent calls for the execution of prominent Democrats.

CNN reviewed social media comments made by Morrow between 2019 and 2021 and uncovered disturbing proposals to execute Democrats for treason.

On X and the now-defunct conservative Twitter alternative, Parler, Morrow used the hashtag “#DeathtoTraitors” a combined 12 times – usually in relation to prominent Democrats.

Among the individuals mentioned were former President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota), Gov. Roy Cooper (D-North Carolina), former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-New York), Hillary Clinton, Sen. Chuck Schumer (New York), former Chief Medical Advisor to the president from 2021-2022 Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates.

Morrow’s comments make violent statements such as “Death to ALL traitors!!” and advocate for televised executions, preferably by firing squad.

After the publication of the story, Morrow defended her previous posts with the assertion that Obama had committed treason.

In a campaign speech delivered in February, Morrow proposed a constitutional amendment to abolish the state Board of Education, which currently sets policies and procedures for public schools in North Carolina. The elimination of the board would grant direct control over the state’s education agenda to the superintendent and the Republican-controlled state legislature. Morrow argued that this change would streamline decision-making and eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy.

Morrow’s victory in the Republican primary over Catherine Truitt, the incumbent North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction, has raised concerns due to her history of violent tirades against Democrats. Morrow, a registered nurse and grassroots activist who homeschooled her children, ran on a platform that emphasized supporting parental rights and opposing critical race theory.

The upcoming election will determine whether the electorate supports her rhetoric and policy proposals or seeks a different vision for the state’s education system.

North Carolina’s Republican Party is no stranger to extremist candidates. This month, Mark Robinson, who has called gay people “filth” and Beyonce “Satanic,” won the GOP nomination for North Carolina governor.
