2016 marks the 12th year that Google has created an official countdown to Christmas, as well as adding various activities and apps for parents and children.
The countdown this year sits atop an animated Santa’s Village designed to resemble an advent calendar. Each day closer to Christmas, a new activity will open up in the village. It features resources for parents and educators with fun activities for K-12 students, as well as a Santra tracker app for your phone.
Come Christmas Eve, Google Maps will show Santa’s route from the North Pole, all around the globe delivering presents. Google is not the only site with such clever antics. Bing has not yet launched its Santa Tracker, and Microsoft has again partnered with NORAD to conduct it’s own official-looking Santa tracker.
