Google has opened up its Doodle 4 Google 2015 contest, giving young students the chance to win a college scholarship.
All U.S. students from kindergarten through 12th grade will have the chance to enter into the competition. Using a medium of their choosing, the entrants will create unique Doodles. Per the contest announcement, the only rule is that the doodler incorporate the word “Google” into the final product.
“From cave paintings to selfies, artists have always found creative ways of expressing themselves. Now, with the Google homepage as their canvas, we’re asking students to do the same,” reads Google’s announcement. “Young artists can doodle with any materials to show what makes them unique, and the winner’s artwork will be featured on our homepage for a day.”
“For this year’s contest, students can create a doodle that tells the world ‘What makes me…me,'” it continued. “Kids have all kinds of things that make them unique, so they can use all kinds of materials to create their doodles, from crayons, to clay, to graphic design, even food and video games.”
The Doodle 4 Google contest is open for entries through December 7, 2015.
“For centuries, artists have created paintings, sculptures, self-portraits, and more to offer insights into their personalities and values,” Google said in a statement. “Now, we’re asking kids to do the same by creating a doodle that shows the world what they’re passionate about, what gets them excited, or what they dream about.”
The winner of the Doodle 4 Google contest will win a $30,000 scholarship for college.
