Google Doodle celebrates both Valentine’s Day and George Ferris, inventor of the Ferris Wheel, on Thursday.
While today is obviously Valentine’s Day, the holiday of hearts, it also marks the 154th birthday of Ferris. The logo of today’s Google Doodle takes the shape of an amusement park and features the inventor’s popular ride. There's a heart at the bottom of the image that when pressed shows a love story between unlikely-paired animals – a monkey and an elephant or maybe a squid and a bear.
Last year, Google Doodle honored Valentine’s Day with an animated video that told the story of a young boy in search of a gift for his Valentine, with the background music of “Cold, Cold Heart” by Tony Bennett.
