Google has opted to explicitly ban all porn and adult material from its Google Glass product, updating their terms of service just hours after online adult software store MiKandi released the first Glass porn app on Monday, reported CBS News.
"Our policies make it clear that Glass does not allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts, or sexually explicit material. Any Glassware that violates this policy will be blocked from appearing on Glass," a Google spokesperson said.
Although MiKandi CEO Jesse Adams believes that they had reimagined the app to fit within Google’s guidelines, their app could not be re-enabled. "We called Google to see if this meant that our account was completely blocked, but they refused to give us a clear answer," Adams told FoxNews.com.
The app put out by MiKandi has been viewed by upwards of 10,000 people, and had signed on a dozen Glass owners. It not only allows Glass users to browse adult content and receive alerts about new content directly to their Glass screen, it also enabled sharing of adult content between Google Glass owners.
Google Glass is currently in beta mode, and was made selectively available to a limited number of individuals earlier in the year. Google is using feedback from those participating in the voluntary trial to make improvements before the product’s official release. The Google Glass headset is expected to be available for purchase at the end of this year or early in 2014.
