Golf influencer Paige Spiranac may have regretted hitting send on a tweet this week.
The post was in response to fellow golfer Will Zalatoris, who missed an easy putt and used his putter to stop the ball from rolling away from the cup in frustration. He lost his first match to Andres Putnam.
Spiranac reacted to the incident on Twitter, writing, “This made me gag,” leading many of her followers to respond with inappropriate comments.

Spiranac later posted that she regretted her choice of words on Twitter, but she could have seen it coming from her millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok.
Spiranac became a golf influencer after not qualifying for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour. She played golf at Arizona and San Diego State and took part in the Cactus Tour but was discouraged after her dedication didn’t result in success.
This led her to decide not to pursue professional golf. “I just got to the point where I just stopped caring. I wanted to have more of a social life. I wanted to have fun. I was tired of dedicating my life to something and just not seeing the result,” she said.
However, Spiranac has found results in another way, currently working with several brands as an influencer, including Persons Xtreme Golf and PointsBet.
Last year, she was named the “Sexiest Woman Alive” in Maxim‘s Hot 100 list and was the first athlete to make it to the No. 1 spot.
