GoFundMe Page For Nick Cordero Raises Close To $1 Million After His Death From COVID-19

The GoFundMe page created to support Broadway star Nick Cordero and his family during the actor’s struggle with COVID-19 has raised close to $1 million. Cordero died over the weekend from the virus after spending over 90 days at Cedar-Sinai hospital in Lost Angeles. The actor was 41 at the time of his death and is survived by his wife Amanda Kloots and their young son, Elvis.

Cordero was admitted to the hospital at the end of March while unconscious. He was first diagnosed with pneumonia and later tested positive for coronavirus. During his time at Cedar-Sinai, Cordero suffered from multiple complications related to his case of COVID-19 including undergoing a leg amputation, receiving a temporary pacemaker and entering a medically-induced coma.

The GoFundMe page for Cordero and his family was launched in mid-April. It was created to raise $400,000 to help the family with his medical bills and any financial hardships due to Cordero’s health battle.

However, the page has now raised over $964,156.

The page now reads, “We are heartbroken to update this account to a memorial,” and is followed by a message from Kloots. “God has another angel in heaven now. My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth. I am in disbelief and hurting everywhere. My heart is broken as I cannot imagine our lives without him. Nick was such a bright light. He was everyone’s friend, loved to listen, help and especially talk. He was an incredible actor and musician. He loved his family and loved being a father and husband. Elvis and I will miss him in everything we do, everyday.”

After Cordero’s death, Kloots shared a video her sister made on Instagram. The video titled, “The Silver Linings” features both photos and videos of Cordero’s family during their time of struggle. The first part of Kloots’s caption reads, “How do you get through the hardest time in your life? Family.”
