Glee cast member Darren Criss got an unwelcome taste of just how seriously some Gleeks take their celebrity stalking when one eager young lady decided to host an impromptu meet-and-greet with the young star, literally yanking him off stage and into the audience.
As the wildly popular "Glee Live! In Concert!" tour rolls on, The Washington Post reports that as last Thursday’s show in D.C. came to a close the cast was offering the traditional bows of thanks to the audience when Criss extended his hand out to the crowd only to be pulled, head first, into the front row by a woman determined to meet her idol.
Quickly up-righted and returned to the stage, Criss let the tension out of the situation by Tweeting: “To the young lady who pulled me off stage and into the pit tonight: If I ever see you on a stage, keep your wits about ya. Love Darren.” Despite the star’s admirable good humor in the moment Criss later reflected on the ahem gravity of the incident, adding: “Btw, I’m lucky I didn’t hit my head on the gate in front of this lady. Seriously, close call tonight…Like, please don’t kill me. I’m nice.”
