MySpace announced Wednesday that Fox’s other hit TV singing sensation, the high school set musical soap opera, Glee, will hold an online casting call for talented amateurs on the site. Inviting bedroom dwelling hopefuls to trade the hairbrush and mirror for a webcam and an actual microphone, Glee’s producers have made a selection of classic show anthems available online in Karaoke format, inviting America at large to impress them with their pipes and potentially land themselves a spot on the shows forthcoming second season.
With the contest set to run from March 30-April 26, entry is open to all persons, male or female, aged 16-26, with the only restrictions being that hopefuls must sing one of the ten songs provided and submit only one entry per person. Following the exploits of a mismatched troupe of musical teen misfits under the tutelage of a comically optimistic teacher, this singing and dancing coming-of-age saga has been a surprise smash hit for Fox, landing itself a Golden Globe, and returns to screens next month on Tuesday, April 13.
