Supermodel Gisele Bündchen opened up about her split from former NFL star Tom Brady and denied cheating allegations while promoting her new cookbook release.
In October 2022, Bündchen divorced Brady after 13 years of marriage.
In an interview with the New York Times, she denied any speculation that she was seeing her jiu-jitsu trainer, Joaquim Valente, before her divorce firmly stating, “That is a lie.”
“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” Bündchen stated.
Bündchen also opened up about her new relationship, “This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” she said. “It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.”
Bündchen underwent two shoulder surgeries in 2019 and 2020. Before that, she had to undergo back surgery after falling off a horse.
“I never felt so depressed and vulnerable,” Bündchen recalled.
These health injuries put Bündchen on a path of rest and recovery.
After the divorce, she left Massachusetts and moved to Miami, making it easier to visit her native country of Brazil. While Bündchen was always leading a healthy lifestyle, she doubled down after the surgeries. Her cookbook, Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul, will be released this month.
Bündchen recently bought her daughter a farm to give her privacy when horseback riding.
