Model Gisele Bündchen has opened up about her family, career, and future plans following her divorce from recently retired star quarterback, Tom Brady.
The 42-year-old model spoke at length about the end of her 13-year-long marriage to Brady, calling it “the death of my dream” in an interview with Vanity Fair.

She spoke emotionally of the divorce, saying it was “tough because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know?”
“I believed in fairy tales when I was a kid. I think it’s beautiful to believe in that. I mean, I’m so grateful I did,” she said. “You give everything you got to achieve your dream. You give a hundred percent of yourself, and it’s heartbreaking when it doesn’t end up the way you hoped for, and worked for, but you can only do your part.”
After months of speculation that the end of their marriage was due to an alleged her ultimatum that he must choose between her and football, Bündchen has finally addressed the rumors, saying the “very hurtful” comments are not true and “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”
“When you love someone, you don’t put them in a jail and say, ‘You have to live this life. You set them free to be who they are, and if you want to fly the same direction, then that’s amazing,” she added.
The Brazilian bombshell was clear that she does not hold a grudge against her ex-husband, whom she first began dating in 2006 and shares two children with. “If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me,” she said. “I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.”
Referring to her divorce as both a “death and a rebirth, the supermodel is now looking toward the future and has big plans for herself and her children – Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10. Since her divorce, she has been spending a lot of time in Costa Rica, where she rides horses in the countryside with her daughter and plays pickleball with her son.
“My dream was to raise my kids here,” the model said referring to Costa Rica. “I didn’t get to be here as much as I’d like, but now I’m bringing them more often.”
“If I never went to another city again, I’d be perfectly happy,” she told the magazine, before later adding that she is “a simple girl who wants to be in nature—leave me alone. I just want to go do my job and raise my children in peace.”
While Bündchen is open to returning to the runway, saying that she’ll “never say never, because the only thing in life I am certain of is change,” she still would rather redirect her attention towards her wellness-focused lifestyle.
“I want to do things that I believe are an extension of me,” she said. “Being a model is not really an extension of me… It’s being an actress in a silent movie. I don’t want to be a character in anybody else’s movie. And when I do that, it doesn’t feel as comfortable for me anymore.”
