Giraffe profile pictures are sprouting up on Facebook as a result of a new riddle chain that’s taking off on the social media website.
The popular riddle reads: "It’s 3am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors! It’s your parents and they are here for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?"
Those who want to participate in the riddle, inbox whomever posted it with what they believe is the correct answer – not commenting on the post itself, lest they give away the answer to future attempting riddle crackers. If one guesses the wrong answer, they are punished with having to change their profile picture to that of a giraffe – any picture of the long-necked animal – and must repost the riddle on their page.

“Your eyes,” is the most widely accepted answer, although some Facebook users have accepted “the door.”
