Gilligan’s Island star Dawn Wells is seeking approximately $180,000 from fans in oder to pay off her financial debt, which includes medical bills.

The 79-year-old actress, who played Mary Ann Summers on the famous 1960s sitcom, was recently hospitalized for two months due to an unspecified medical issue. A GoFundMe page to help Wells was set up on Aug. 27 and has since received more than $136,000 in donations as of Friday afternoon. The page was created by a friend of Wells.

Wells thanked fans for the outpouring of financial support in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

She continued: “I thought I was taking all the proper steps to ensure my golden years. Now, here I am, no family, no husband, no kids and no money. Im grateful that God has given me so many friends and fans who care, or it would all be too ….overwhelming.”
