Gigi Hadid Takes Selfies In Milan Day After Vitalii Sediuk Incident

Gigi Hadid took some selfies backstage at the Fendi show during Milan Fashion Week Thursday.

Ahead of the Fendi show – which Hadid’s younger sister Bella Hadid was opening – Hadid took selfies with fellow models. The model seemed to be in considerably better spirits than she was in on Wednesday, when she was lifted off the ground by a stranger while heading to a waiting car with his sister.

As Hadid exited the Max Mara show at Milan Fashion week, she was caught by surprise when she felt someone wrap their arms around her and try to lift her up. Hadid quickly tried to get away, snapping back her elbow in self-defense. After extricating herself, Hadid followed the man, shouting, “Who the f— are you, you piece of s–t?!” before going to her car.

After the incident, some reports acted as though Hadid was overreacting to an overzealous “fan.” The model was happy to see that one Twitter user named Rachel was sticking up for her. “THANK YOU Rachel. To unknown article writer: fan?!!! The ACTUAL fans that were there can tell you what happened,” Hadid tweeted. “I’m a HUMAN BEING — and had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho ????.”

In the end, it turned out that the stranger was not a fan at all, but serial red carpet-crasher Vitalii Sediuk.

“While I consider Gigi Hadid beautiful, she and her friend Kendall Jenner have nothing to do with high fashion. By doing this, I encourage the fashion industry to put true talents on the runway and Vogue covers instead of well-connected cute girls from Instagram,” Sediuk told The Hollywood Reporter, taking credit.

Sediuk added, “You can call it a manifest or a protest. This is also a wake-up call for Anna Wintour, who turned Vogue into a tabloid by putting Kardashians and other similar celebrities on a cover of a well-respected magazine.”
