Gigi Hadid Accused Of Wearing Blackface On ‘Vogue’ Italia Cover
The 23-year-old model shared a now-deleted picture on Instagram of the May 2018 Vogue Italia cover. The picture showed Hadid with dark hair and a complexion so much darker than her own she was barely recognizable.

The photograph shot by Steven Klein had Hadid and male model Justin Martin‘s complexion so dark people were calling it blackface.

Sozzani’s Vogue Italia made history with The All Black Issue, calling out the lack of diversity in the industry. Farneti’s Vogue Italia gave us black face GiGi Hadid. Shame. pic.twitter.com/fayrtJxG0g

Some of her fans stood by her claiming it is just “a tan.”
It’s called a tan…

lmao thats a fake tan and poorly edited cover. its not gigis fault

Stan twitter again trying to drag Gigi by lying and exaggerating to validate their unreasonable hatred against her. Gigi clearly was tanned and NOT black faced. Gigi’s vogue Italia cover was heavily edited, that’s only issue I can see which is the editor’s fault, not Gigi’s. pic.twitter.com/GGXXF8Alyz

Hadid had previously been called out in 2015 for posing for a shoot with a different skin tone and wearing an afro for the same magazine.
