George Zimmerman Pulled Over For Speeding, Has Gun In Car

George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin earlier this month, was pulled over for speeding on Wednesday and had a gun in the glove compartment of his vehicle.

Zimmerman was driving above the speed limit on a highway in Forney, Tex., when he was pulled over by local law enforcement, reported TMZ. When police asked him where he was headed, he replied, “Nowhere in particular.” He also offered up the fact that he had a gun stashed in the glove box.

Ultimately, Zimmerman only received a warning following the moving violation after it was determined that he had no outstanding warrants. Spending just five minutes with the acquitted 30-year-old, police let Zimmerman get back on the road and told him, “Have a safe trip."

This isn’t the first time Zimmerman has been in the news since his trial wrapped up on July 13. Just three days after he was found not guilty in the slaying of the unarmed teen, he reportedly aided another man in pulling a family out of their wrecked vehicle in Florida.

In the aftermath of Zimmerman’s trial, jurors, including juror 29 named Maddy, have opened up about their feeling on the case. “George Zimmerman got away with murder," juror 29 told Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts. "But you can't get away from God. And at the end of the day, he's going to have a lot of questions and answers he has to deal with. [But] the law couldn't prove it."

Throughout the trial, Zimmerman and his attorney’s maintained that he acted in self defense when he shot and killed Martin in February 2012.
