George R.R. Martin Confirms Kit Harington Pitched Jon Snow Sequel Series

George R.R. Martin, the original author of the A Song Of Ice And Fire series that was adapted to become Game Of Thrones on HBO, has confirmed that a show starring GOT character Jon Snow is officially in the works under the working title Snow.

Martin also added that this show has been in development for about as long as the three other successor shows which are in the scripting phase, but information about Snow didn’t leak until recently.

The writer also confirmed an interesting fact about the show that was first claimed when Emilia Clarke first broke the news. It’s that the actor who played Jon Snow himself, Kit Harington, was the one who proposed the show in the first place.

“Yes, it was Kit Harington who brought the idea to us,” Martin wrote in a blog post on his website. “I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners since that has not been cleared for release yet… but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific.”

Martin said that Harrington and his team met with Martin and other writers in Santa Fe, New Mexico “to hammer out the show,” but was very clear in mentioning that the project hasn’t been officially greenlit yet.

The author also spoke briefly about the upcoming Targaryen-centered series The House Of The Dragon, which premieres on August 21. It was mostly just to rant about “clickbait websites,” that misquoted him as saying he hoped that his series will beat Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power in viewership when they air.

He also made a final winking reference to long-suffering novel-readers wondering if he’ll ever be completing the last book in the A Song Of Ice And Fire series. “Yes, Winds of Winter. No, have not forgotten. I was back with Tyrion last week,” Martin wrote cheekily at the end of his blog.
