George H.W. Bush Health Update: Doctors Consider Removing Breathing Tube, Releasing From ICU
Former president George H. W. Bush has been hospitalized for pneumonia for a few days, and his doctors are considering removing his breathing tube.
GEORGE H. W. BUSH HEALTH UPDATE
Bush, 92, and his wife former First Lady Barbara Bush, 91, were both being treated at Houston Methodist Hospital, Barbara for bronchitis. After a shot of antibiotics and bed rest, she is feeling “1,000 percent better.”
A spokesperson for the family said that H.W. Bush is in stable condition. Though he has been in the Intensive Care Unit since Wednesday, removing the tube would enable him to breathe on his own. “We are hopeful he will be discharged from the ICU in a few days,” said spokesperson Jim McGrath.
Both Donald Trump and Bill Clinton sent the Bushes their well wishes via Twitter, and Barack Obama via a news conference. “41 and Barbara – thinking about you both and sending wishes for a speedy recovery. Love 42,” Clinton wrote, endearingly referring to the two by their presidential numbers.
Their son, and 43rd president of the United States George W. Bush took to Instagram to wish his parents well, and also to give an update to the public. “Your prayers are working,” it said yesterday, “41 and Mom are doing much better today and fighting on.”
