Gene Simmons
KISS Frontman Gene Simmons took a spill while performing with the rock band during a recent concert.
Simmons was at a show with KISS in Bozeman, Montana, over the weekend. While playing hit track “Rock and Roll All Night,” Simmons, 66, took a few steps back from the mic. Not realizing that there was a raised platform behind him, Simmons ended up losing his footing and falling flat on his back, reported NME.
Simmons looked to be in some pain after the spill, but after a stage hand helped him get back on his feet, he jumped right back into the song.
Earlier this year, Simmons received some negative press after weighing in on the circumstances surrounding Prince’s death.
“Bowie was the most tragic of all because it was real sickness. All the other ones were a choice. [Prince’s] drugs killed him. What do you think, he died from a cold?” he told Newsweek. “How pathetic that he killed himself. Don’t kid yourself, that’s what he did. Slowly, I’ll grant you… but that’s what drugs and alcohol is: a slow death.”
Simmons later apologized for his comments. He took to Twitter to release a public statement: “I got such s–t from my family for my big mouth again. I apologize. I have a long history of getting very angry at what drugs do to the families/friends of the addicts. I was raised in a culture where addicts were written off as losers and it’s been hard to change with the times. Needless to say, I didn’t express myself properly here.”
