Garth Brooks’ Wife, Trisha Yearwood, Sells Tennessee Home One Day Before Brooks Is Sued For Rape & Battery

Trisha Yearwood, wife of country music star Garth Brooks for nearly 20 years, sold her Tennessee home just one day before her husband was hit with alleged rape and battery charges.

While the $3.3 million Brentwood, Tennessee, property had been listed on and off over the years, it finally sold on October 2, according to its listing online – just 24 hours before the filing of a sexual assault and battery lawsuit against Brooks, 62, in California.

Roe, who worked as Brooks’ hairstylist and makeup artist, has accused the singer of making unwanted sexual advances and, in one instance, raping her during a 2019 work trip to Los Angeles for a Grammys tribute.

In her lawsuit, the woman also alleges Brooks made inappropriate comments, exposed himself to her at his home, and made repeated suggestions about having a threesome with her and Yearwood.

Brooks has categorically denied the accusations, calling the claims extortion.

“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money,” the singer said in a statement. “In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another.”

He has also filed his own lawsuit against the woman in September, citing defamation of character.

“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face,” the singer said. “I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”

Yearwood’s decision to sell the home during this sensitive time has raised questions about its connection to the legal controversy surrounding her husband.

As of now, Yearwood has not publicly commented on the lawsuit or the allegations against her husband.
