Kit Harington, 30, and Rose Leslie, also 30, are reportedly engaged.
The couple met as love interests on Game of Thrones five years ago, and have been dating ever since. Harrington, who plays Jon Snow on the popular HBO series, is said to have popped the question over the weekend, and the pair told the news to their family and friends.
The pair took out a wedding announcement in the Times in England, which read, “MR. K.C. HARINGTON AND MISS R.E. LESLIE. The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughters of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire
The couple began dating in 2012 when they were filming Game of Thrones in Iceland. Leslie played a wildling, Ygritte. who catches the attention of the should-be-celibate Snow. She was killed off in season four. “The three weeks in Iceland where we shot the second season [we’re my favorite] because the country is beautiful, the light of the North magic, and why it was there that I fell in love,” the Harrington said last year. “If you are attracted to a person and in fiction is your love interest, it becomes easy to fall in love.”
The couple kept their relationship secret for years, and only made their first public appearance together in 2016. They also recently hit headlines that they moved into a 15th century home in England’s East Anglia county in January for $2.3 million.
“I’ve moved in with my other best friend, Rose,” Harington told James Corden previously, when Leslie moved in with him initially. “I’m very, very happy and it’s going well. She has all sorts of ideas for the house. I said to her — because she moved into my house — I said, ‘Look, darling, it’s important that this is our space, that it feels like our space and that you haven’t just moved into mine. Move anything you want around — change anything or chuck anything out.’ So I went to the shops and I came back and said, ‘What did you decide?'” he continued. “And she went, ‘We’re moving the kitchen downstairs.'”
