Peter Vaughan On 'Game Of Thrones'
Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, teased fans by saying that season seven would end with “a huge cliffhanger.”
Williams’ comment has fans pondering what the possible cliffhanger could entail. Many believe the season will end at the Dragonpit that has been seen in a few previous episodes, and that various characters will meet there, including Cersei Lannister, who is now the reigning Queen, and Daenerys Targaryen, who wants the Iron Throne.
The existence of the Dragonpit is already confirmed, as is Daenerys’ meeting with Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Ser Davos Seaworth. If Jon Snow appears, who it was confirmed is the son of a Stark and a Targaryen, and not the bastard child of Ned Stark, that could be part of the promised cliffhanger.
Perhaps another near-death of a character, such as that of Jon Snow at the end of season 5. Or the appearance of more indestructible White Walkers could add to the drama of a cliffhanger. Additionally, a large green structure has appeared on set, and is thought to be the body of Daenerys’ dragons. Some fans have put together than Daenerys will have to swoop in on her dragon to save Jon Snow from certain death.
Of course, more information will come and gather as season seven gets underway. And fans will only learn the true nature of the alleged cliffhanger by the start of season 8.
