‘Game Of Thrones’ Returns With New Teaser [VIDEO]

A new teaser for the penultimate season of Game of Thrones was released yesterday and has fans speculating the arc of the season.

The trailer itself was simple – we watched as Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow each walked forward toward their own thrones. Cersei to the Iron Throne, Daenerys on a throne yet unseen, and Jon to his seat at Winterfell. All take a seat as “Sit Down” by James plays in the background.

Many assume that the seat the Mother of Dragons takes in the throne of Dragonstone, the castle at the entrance of Blackwater Bay. This indicates that she may have reached Westeros on her newly granted sailing capabilities by the start of the season.

And, it appears, that as promised, winter has finally come. A set of candles blow out, and Cersei exhales so we can see her breath, meaning it’s already quite cold in King’s Landing. And at the end, another ruler is thrown into the mix – the Night King of the White Walkers.

With just two seasons left, showrunner David Benioff has said the show is “definitely heading into the endgame now.” Season seven of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO on July 16.
