‘Game Of Thrones’ News: Series To Film Season 8 Until Next Summer

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will apparently take the longest to film, according to actor Liam Cunningham.

Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth in the hit HBO show, gave a look into the season’s filming schedule. Up until now, a typical season would take six months to film and be done by December – a typical season would also consist of 10 episodes, whereas the final season will only be six.

“[The episodes are] definitely going to be bigger and what I hear is longer. We’re filming right up until the summer,” the actor told TV Guide. “When you think about it, up until last season we’d have six months to do ten episodes, so we’re [doing] way more than that for six episodes. So that obviously will translate into longer episodes.”

Cunningham also revealed that the scripts have been sent out to the actors, and that the producers are trying extremely hard to make sure no plots get leaked. “I got six of [the scripts], I’ve got them all,” the actor told IGN, “but I can’t open them because of all the security, and I can’t walk it out.” And he means literally. The scripts are digital copies and are only available for viewing at the show’s studio in Belfast, and even then, the actors need codes to get specific episodes.
