‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Darren Kent, Who Suffered From Rare Skin Disorder, Dies At 39

British actor Darren Kent died on Friday at the age of 39. 

Kent’s agency, Cary Dodd Associates, announced the news of his death on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday stating, “It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP my friend ❤️.”

The company also included the following heartfelt sentiment on their Instagram page, “Darren was not only a talented actor, director and writer, he was truly one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. It has been a privilege and pleasure to have been a part of his journey.”

No details about his death were given, including the cause of death, but it is known that the actor was battling a rare skin disorder, arthritis and osteoporosis. 

His family and friends will remember “his indomitable spirit and love of life inspired all he met and he will be remembered not only for his talent but as a warm and generous friend.”

Kent was best known for his roles in Game of Thrones as a goat herder in season 4 when he showed Daenerys Targaryen his child’s burned body and his work in the soap opera EastEnders.

He was born and raised in Essex and graduated from the Italia Conti Theatre Academy and was skilled in salsa dancing, guitar, singing and ballroom dancing. 

He acted in one episode of the British TV show Shameless in 2004 and in the 2008 horror movie Mirrors by Kiefer Sutherland. He more recently starred in the film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves this year. He had six new projects in the works, which included a feature called What I Know.
