'Game Of Thrones' Spoilers: Sophie Turner Reveals What's Ahead For Character Sansa Stark

Game of Thrones’ third season will see Sansa Stark losing some of her naiveté after the life-altering effects of the events that unfolded in season two.

“Season 2 changed her. All the things she heard in songs and fairy tales — they’re all gone now,” Sophie Turner who plays Sansa Stark, told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s lost her innocence, but for the better. You don’t want to be innocent in the world of Game of Thrones.”

In the upcoming third season of the series, Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) will wed Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and Sansa has at long last emerged from the villainous king’s evil intent – offering, perhaps, a more hopeful outlook for the character. Furthermore, Sansa might have an ally in Lady Olenna, Margaery’s grandmother.

“[Sansa] has some big events that are unexpected and a new experience for her,” Turner teased in her interview with EW. “This time she actually becomes a woman and has a chance to live what could be her dream life.”

Sansa’s new vitality in Game of Thrones' third season might serve to better endear Turner to the show’s audience. Currently, the 17-year-old actress is often met with jeers from fans of the HBO series and George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire novels that inspired it. Although it took her by surprise at first, she grew to not mind the negative perception of Sansa.

“[Sansa's] the least favorite in the books so I guess I’m doing my job if I’m the least favorite in the show,” Turner quipped.
