'Game Of Thrones' Preview Features Behind The Scenes Footage & Cast Interviews

HBO released a 15-minute preview video for Game of Thrones' fourth season, which includes behind-the-scenes footage of the upcoming episodes as well as interviews with the cast and creators.

'Game Of Thrones' Preview

One of the main events of Season Four will be the Purple Wedding, the ceremony and celebration of the marriage between Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) and Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer). Clips from the wedding reveal a lavish set, which the actors reveal was just as impressive in person. The sheer scale of the sets, as evident with the wedding, is consistent throughout the season and impressed those working on the series at every turn.

Rising Seven Kingdoms leader, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), has a new throne room from which to rule. The problem is, however, that all the lands she’s liberated are now in mass revolt. Furthermore, her dragon babies have grown larger and more dangerous, symbolizing Dany’s newfound lack of control.

Tyrion's Troubled Season 4

Also struggling with impotence is Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), whose wit is notlonger the formidable weapon it once was. In the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, the youngest son of Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) gets himself into a predicament he’s hard-pressed to get out of. Throughout the season, he’s destined to remain in some kind of mortal peril.

Aside from his brother Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), it looks like Tyrion might have one more friend in new character Oberyn Martell, played by Pedro Pasqual. By hating the Lannisters, he shares a common sentiment with Tyrion. In King’s Landing for Joffrey’s wedding, he has bigger plans that have to do with exacting revenge.

At the wall, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) is tortured by Ygritte’s (Rose Leslie) death – and the reality that he broke his vows to the Night’s Watch. With a more confident Sam (John Bradley) joining him, he now has a friend who is an equal. According to Harrington, his character is in a bad place in the fourth season, but has to put his duty to Westeros before his many distresses.

'GOT' Cast Names Saddest Death, Favorite Character

In addition to dishing on the upcoming season, Game of Thrones actors also answered questions from Twitter users about past seasons. The cast members differed on the saddest death so far, with Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran) picking Master Luwin (Donald Sumpter), and Leslie naming Rob (Richard Madden) and Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley). Their favorite characters ranged from Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and Jamie to Cersei (Lena Headey).

What the actors all agree on, however, is that Game of Thrones' fourth season will be more jam-packed with action and thrills than previous seasons. Right from the get go, the HBO medieval fantasy series will be throwing viewers into the high-stakes environment of the Seven Kingdoms as they prepare for winter.

Game of Thrones' fourth season will premiere June 6.
