‘Game of Thrones’ Coffee Cup Mystery: Emilia Clarke Blames Conleth Hill

The internet went wild when a Starbucks coffee cup was left on the set of Game of Thrones, making it into Episode 4 of the series’ final season.

HBO addressed the mishap with humor, posting a statement to Twitter that said, “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

Since the episode aired, viewers have been guessing at who was to blame for the coffee cup.

Conleth Hill now has been fingered by his costar, Emilia Clarke. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Clarke revealed that the cup belonged to Hill. Clarke said Hill confessed to her that the cup was actually his during a party before the Emmy’s ceremony — and apologized for not taking the blame sooner.

“He’s like, ‘I think so, I’m sorry darling, I didn’t want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you,’ ” she said on Fallon.

Hill is denying the allegation. “You know, there’s no proof that I did it. So accuse away,” he said, according to CNN. “I took a bullet for Emilia Clarke and she turned on me.” he added.

These aren’t the first accusations from GOT cast members, as Sophie Turner, who played Sansa Stark previously hinted the cup was Clark’s fault on an episode of The Tonight Show. “I mean look who it’s placed in front of. Emilia Clarke,” she said. “She’s the culprit.”
