Gabriel Harris Posed For ‘Saddest Mugshot Ever’ After Taco Bell Arrest

Gabriel Harris, a man who was arrested after refusing to leave a Taco Bell at 3 a.m. on Sunday, has gone viral and earned the title of the ‘Saddest Mugshot Ever.’

Gabriel Harris Arrested At Taco Bell

Harris, 33, created a scene when he rode up to a Florida Taco Bell drive-thru on a bicycle and refused to leave after the employees denied him service due to his transportation. He arrived around 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, accompanied by an unnamed female, and police were eventually called to the scene. Authorities say Harris appeared intoxicated when they arrived.

According to reports, police arrested Harris after seeing a Swiss Army knife on his belt loop and trying to get it away from the intoxicated Harris. Harris then reportedly wrestled with an officer until he was handcuffed and taken away by the police, resulting in a visibly sad, and slightly bloody, Harris being taken in and processed. In his mugshot, Harris, who has fading blue hair, wears a pronounced frown on his face – brow furrowed and pout out in full force. He also shows evidence of having scraped his head, something police say happened while he was being handcuffed.

Harris has been charged with resisting an officer with violence and is currently out on $1,000 bail.

Harris’ Wife Claims Police Used Excessive Force

A new report states that Harris’ wife, Sarah Haliburton, was the woman with Harris at the Taco Bell, and she claims that neither she nor Harris were drunk. Harris also alleges that officers used excessive force when arresting Harris and that Harris was merely trying to move his hand out of the way so that the officer could grab his pocketknife when the officer attacked him.

“Sarah Haliburton said her husband, Gabriel Harris, suffered a bloody cut to his forehead when the officer called by Taco Bell employees forcefully pushed him into his bicycle and then slammed his head on concrete. Harris’ glasses got twisted and ended up on the ground next to his blood,” reported The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Haliburton is claiming that her husband has since suffered from constant headaches and is accusing the Taco Bell of discrimination, saying, “It was discrimination. We don’t choose to drive a vehicle. The bicycles are our vehicles.”

Taco Bell spokesman Rob Poetsch defended their vehicle-only drive-through policy in a statement: “First and foremost, our priority is the safety of our customers and team members, so our drive-thrus are limited to registered vehicles to be used on roads and highways. In addition, our drive-thrus include technology and sensors that are specifically designed and built to only serve our customers who are in vehicles.”
