G-Eazy Raps With The Soul Rebels At The Iconic Blue Note Club In NYC

On Saturday night, rapper G-Eazy took the stage with the New Orleans band, The Soul Rebels, for an energetic set in front of a sold-out crowd at New York City’s iconic venue, The Blue Note Jazz Club.

The rapper, who knew the band growing up in his native New Orleans, told the crowd, “Ya’ll are hearing one of the greatest bands of all time tonight!”

The band, an eight-piece ensemble that blends funk, soul and jazz with traditional New Orleans brass, attracted an A-List set of guest hosts over their four-night residency at the club including Ja Rule, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and comedian Tony Woods.

“Performing a Blue Note Jazz Club residency is the holy grail of artistic experiences for our band. This opportunity brings together our favorite artists including our long-time friends and collaborators Rakim and G-Eazy and marks our debut performances with Big Daddy Kane and Ja Rule. This Blue Note engagement is truly monumental within our career and in culture. We are going big this year for the 50th anniversary of hip hop,” said Lumar Leblanc, the band’s drummer and co-founder, in a statement.
