Future
Rapper Future has scored his third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with Evol.
Evol is set to be Future’s third No. 1 album in less than seven months. As of the week ending Feb. 11., 134,000 units of Evol were sold, according to Nielsen Music. Of the 134,000 units, 100,000 were in pure album sales. The sales have bumped Evol into the first place spot previously held by Rihanna‘s Anti, which is now sitting in third. Adele‘s 25 is in second.
“Blessings ?? @ The Top,” Future wrote on Instagram and Twitter in response to the massive news.
The first No. 1 in Future’s trifecta was his solo release DS2 that hit the top of the chart on Aug. 8. The rapper followed that up with his Drake collaboration, What a Time to Be Alive, which came out in October.
Future’s accomplishment is a rare one. While the Glee cast had three No. 1 albums in the span of less than two months in 2010, they are technically soundtracks. Looking at only artist-driven albums, the last artist to achieve such a feat was Herb Alpert in the mid 60s, according to Billboard.
