Dennis Quaid stars in Funny or Die’s newest hilarious sketch, which tricked the public into believing Quaid had exploded on set.

Over the weekend, a short video of Quaid launching into a profanity-laden tirade on set went viral. “I am acting here, and this dickhead wanders onto my set. I can’t even get a line out until Dopey the Dick starts whispering in your ear and you’re not even watching anymore,” Quaid yelled in the video.

Dennis Quaid’s viral rant divided the public, with some questioning whether or not it was a real on set freak out, or part of an elaborate prank, perhaps orchestrated by Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel denied any involvement in the video, and on Wednesday, Funny or Die claimed all responsibility and released the truth behind the Dennis Quaid video.

In the Funny or Die video, every offensive thing Quaid yelled in the original 44-second video is actually literally on set with him, including ‘Dopey the Dick’ – a man dressed in a penis costume.

Meanwhile, Quaid appeared to promote a new online drama at the Crackle Upfront and he poked fun at his viral temper tantrum with Seth Green. “Said the wrong thing to Dennis Quaid,” Green wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Quaid holding him in a chokehold.
