Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen apparently have not entirely ruled out joining their former costars on the Full House spinoff Fuller House.
“The Olsen twins are teetering [on] whether or not they’ll be around,” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour in Beverly Hills Tuesday. “There’s a bunch of opportunity for them if they choose to. But they’re not in the current creative.”
Back in May, it was stated that the Olsens, who had taken turns playing Michelle Tanner on Full House, turned down joining Fuller House. At the time, it was said that they decided it would be in their best interests to continue to focus on their fashion brands and other business ventures instead of returning to acting.
“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family,” Fuller House executive producer Robert Boyett had said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
“It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors,” Boyett added. “I appreciate their support and good wishes towardsFuller House.”
John Stamos announced the Full House in April, revealing that Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber would be joining him on the show. Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin are all on board for appearances as well.
Fuller House will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2016.
