‘Full House’ Showrunner Sells $85 Million Mansion On Plot Where Manson Murders Occured

The showrunner of ABC Family’s iconic sitcom Full House, Jeff Franklin, is selling his Beverly Hills mansion for $85 million. Although beautiful and luxurious in appearance, the house holds a dark past.

In 1969, Sharon Tate, Steven Parent, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger and Jay Sebring were all murdered by Charles Manson’s cult in the original home that was built on the same property Franklin’s house now rests on. However, in the 1990s, the mansion was torn down by Alvin Weintraub and eventually rebuilt. Even the address was changed from 10050 Cielo Drive to 10066 Cielo.

“We went to great pains to get rid of everything,” Weintraub told Los Angeles Magazine. “There’s no house, no dirt, no blade of grass remotely connected to Sharon Tate.”

The home which covers 21,000 square feet includes nine bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, a spa, a hair salon, a gym, a movie theater, a billiards room, a bar, a two-story foyer, a 75-yard swimming pool with a swim-up bar, a cabana, a “jetliner views,” a private grotto, a koi pond, a detached guest house and an underground garage.

The Andalusian-style residence was bought by Franklin in 2007 for $6 million. The Full House creator recently held a reception for guests that attended Bob Saget‘s funeral. Saget, known as Danny Tanner on Franklin’s sitcom, suddenly passed away at the age of 65 on January 9.
