With the ubiquity of DSLRS, photographer and video-makers have been looking for the next step up. Fujifilm’s X-T2 offers a number of enhancement, including 4K video and 325 single auto-focus points, that make it a major contender for those wanting a sleek-but-powerful camera setup.
Fujifilm credits the success of this new model with it’s X-Processor chip, which allows quick and accurate focusing on subjects both moving and stationary. A recent Engadget review revealed that this key feature is not compromised in low-light conditions, and X-T2 features an ISO range of 100-21,600. Designed for precise image-contol, the body of the camera is equipped with mechanical dials individually dedicated to adjusting shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, exposure compensation, drive modes and metering modes. The weather-resistant body will also buy you some time, should inclement weather arise mid-shoot.
Key for low-budget filmmakers, the X-T2 is capable of recording 4K video for ten minutes at a time. Purchasing the $329 external grip peripheral will push that time to nearly 30 minutes of continuous recording. It also comes with two extra batteries. 4K video is the centerpiece of the camera, with shooting modes of 24, 25 and 30 frames per second. The camera has a FUJIFILM X mount, so your lenses must fit the specification, unless you have an adapter.
The Fujifilm X-T2 is a notable addition to a strong line of powerful and compact DSLRS.
